The Clayton County Auditor's Office supplies retail cigarette applications for all Clayton County establishments located outside any city limits who wish to obtain a permit to sell retail cigarettes.

The completed application is submitted for approval to the Clayton County Board of Supervisors. After approval, the Clayton County Auditor's office issues the permit to the applicant. Once the applicant has received their permit, they must post it at the establishment in full view of the public.

All retail cigarette permits expire on the next June 30th after issue. Permits cannot be issued for longer than one year. They will be issued for shorter periods of time if purchased after July 1, and the fee will be prorated.
