K-9 Deputy Matt Moser

  • In 2002, Matt graduated from Clayton Ridge High School.
  • After high school, Matt attended North Iowa Area Community College and received his Associate’s in Arts Degree in Criminal Justice.
  • Deputy Moser continued his education by attending Buena Vista University where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice.
  • In January 2008 Matt was hired by the Strawberry Police Department.
  • In Spring 2008 Matt graduated from the 8-week Iowa Law Enforcement Academy.
  • In February 2009 Deputy Moser was hired by the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office.
  • In July of 2009 Deputy Moser became the Sheriff’s Office K9 Handler.
  • Deputy Moser’s partner is K9 "Raven." Raven is a German Shepherd.
  • K9 Raven turned 2 years old in February of 2015.
  • K9 Raven is a dual purpose K9 and assists all law enforcement agencies in Clayton County.
  • K9 Raven helps detect narcotics and tracks fleeing criminals, or assists in finding or tracking missing children.
  • Raven is Deputy Moser's second K-9. Prior to Raven, Deputy Moser was the handler for K-9 Bear who retired in June of 2014.
  • Deputy Moser and K9 Raven are also available for presentations or demonstrations.
