The Auditor's Office recently conducted its annual four year no activity mailing, as required under the National Voter Registration Act of 1993 ("Motor Voter"). Since Motor Voter passed, voter registrations cannot be cancelled simply because a person did not vote. Instead, preliminary and final cancellations are based on mail that is returned to our office as undeliverable.
This year's mailing was sent to voters who have shown no activity in 4 years. "Activity" includes...
Registering or re-registering to vote
Requesting a new voter card
Updating your address or any other information
Voting in any election
A postage-paid reply card is sent to your address, as indicated on our voter registration files. Our office will also send notices to voters who have reported an address change to the Postal Service.
For more information, please call the Auditor's Office at 563-245-1106.
