The Emergency Management Director is appointed by the Clayton County Emergency Management Commission. The Director's office is located in the Clayton County Office Building.

The duty of the Emergency Management Director is to administer disaster services programs such as severe weather warning and assist in the federal and state agencies in disasters.

This past year we have worked closely with the Clayton County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) and Upper Mississippi Gaming Corporation (UMGC) to secure the funding needed to purchase 4 Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs). We were fortunate to be awarded $2500 at the end of October by the UMGC. CCSO and Emergency Management then contributed the remaining funds needed. We now have an AED in every CCSO patrol vehicle to help decrease the amount of time an individual goes without initial lifesaving care. Thank you again to everyone who assisted with this project.”
